IMA Members: Commitment to Professionalism and Expertise

IMA members are dedicated to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and expertise. The relevance and prestige of the A.I.M.A. designation and M.I.M.A. accreditation is maintained through a requirement to continually upgrade and update knowledge and skills in the field of property assessment.

CPD Program Basics

To support ongoing professional growth, IMA members are required to complete Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours to maintain their designations.

CPD Requirements (Two-Year Cycle)

• A.I.M.A. Designated Members:
  Total: 16 hours

  • Minimum 11 hours: Learning Hours category

  • Minimum 3 hours: Ethics category

  • Maximum 2 hours: General category

• M.I.M.A. Accredited Members:
  Total: 20 hours

  • Minimum 14 hours: Learning Hours category

  • Minimum 3 hours: Ethics category

  • Maximum 3 hours: General category

We are currently in CPD Cycle 6 (April 1, 2024 – March 31, 2026).

CPD Offerings and Recognition

• The CPD Committee reviews external events, courses, and other professional development offerings to determine the number of CPD credits allocated (as either Learning Hours or General Hours).

• Approved offerings are listed on the Approved Events page.

• If your event is not listed, you can request recognition by submitting a CPD Approval Request.
